  2. 2016 NCHA Limited Open Futurity Finalist
  3. 2016 NCHA Scottsdale Nationals $5,000 Novice Horse Champion

Favorite Horse and Why:

Its hard to pick just one horse because they all hold their own place in my barn. Zack and Blue “Roger” would have to be at the top of my list. I had the opportunity to assist Al Dunning and haul Roger to his 2011 NCHA $3,000 Novice Horse World Championship and achieved my first open title on him. He is one of those horses that has a heart for the sport…you can tell he loves his job. His personality is probably one of my favorite things about him. He is a freak….there’s just no way around it. He has his “people” and it’s hard to get on that list. Roger stalls in the first stall in our barn and it will be like that for as long as he’s with me.

Favorite Place to Compete:

My favorite common place to compete is at the South Point Arena in Las Vegas, NV. This facility is set up for convenience and our shows always run smoothly. It gives me peace of mind knowing I can run down and check on my horses in five minutes if needed and it’s always nice to grab a bite to eat in between classes or sets. The staffing at South Point are awesome and always have stalls ready, aisles swept, and our needs taken care of before we show up!

My second favorite place to compete is at the Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth Texas. Last year was my first time showing in that arena and it was just an overall awesome experience. Even though shows occur there throughout the year, the NCHA Futurity and World Finals show is my pick.  The show presents with so many opportunities…from showcasing and debuting 3 year olds who haven’t ever showed before to crowning weekend world champions in each class, the excitement is real and lasts for weeks. It is my personal goal to help each of my clients earn the opportunity to show here or have a horse they own shown here at least once in their career.

Favorite Quote:

 “Show smooth…show smart”.

Why Use Coolaid:

I have hauled many horses down the road and spent countless hours icing at the trailer. So many of the products I used prior to Coolaid were bulky, uncomfortable for the horses, and just a hassle to deal with. When we found Coolaid, it was a game changer for our program. The wraps are compact and convenient to throw in our portable freezer, an ice chest, or a bucket of water. One set can be used multiple times and most importantly, our horses are comfortable in them. They don’t kick and move around, they are used to the feeling of wraps or boots as light weight as Coolaid is. I like that the process is 10 minutes long and we can physically feel the difference on our horses after Coolaid has been used. We use the leg wraps, hock wraps, and blanket on almost every horse after showing… and our dogs like their vests too.

Favorite Horse:

2003 AQHA Chestnuts mare, Chips Pretty Girl. Cass is the horse that’s made it possible for me to be competitive on a national level and we are proud of this mare. We’ve done all the training on her from the ground up, and we can count on her in any situation. She makes us look a lot better than we maybe are some days, and we give her all the credit. She’s got an interesting story, we bought Cassie as a weanling to re-sell as a show prospect, but she didn’t want that life, she wanted to mounted shoot just as bad as I always have She doesn’t have a popular pedigree for performance, but her heart makes up for it, and she’s the best team mate I could ask for. She’s a bit of aloof and gets really serious about her job, and we use her for everything from ponying colts to sorting calves and random farm work. She’ll figure out what we want usually before we even tell her, she’s always trying so hard, and she’s just done a lot for our family.

Favorite Place to Compete:

The Laze E Arena in Guthrie, OK is our favorite arena, and the CMSA World Championships in Amarillo is our favorite event.

Favorite Quote:

“I’d rather be completely exhausted from the heard times which breed success, than well rested from achieving nothing.” -unknown

Why Coolaid?

“We all know what a difference cold therapy makes for human athletes, and CoolAid makes it super easy for us to provide that same soothing recovery method for our hard working equine athletes. We can tell such a difference in subsequent performances after we use our CoolAid products. Heat is terribly hard on joints and tendons, and our CoolAid hock and leg wraps do such a great job of cooling those legs down after a hard workout, helping our horses work harder and longer and more comfortably.  The cooling blankets dual use as a traditional cooler while also have the ability to very quickly help lower a horse’s core body temperature in the summer makes it absolutely indispensable. We wont trailer anywhere without our cooling blankets! Aside from their constant use before and after workouts and competing, they also provide an extra measure of safety in the hot summer months with long hours spent on the road.  We don’t have one of the fancier rigs with A/C in the horse area, and if we were ever to have a breakdown on the highway in the heat of the day I feel SO much better knowing I can quickly wet our CoolAid blanket down and prevent our horses from overheating without having to us unloading them on a busy highway! They are so compact, and store so easily that in our opinion they should be part of everyone’s equine/trailer first aid bag."

Favorite Place to Compete

Why Use Coolaid
For athletes of any kind, human or animal, you have to condition and take great care of the body. With body temperature and muscle fatigue on hot days or long days in the arena, Coolaid helps with the reconditioning of the body. I use the towels to keep cool and use the leg wraps on my lower legs. Coolaid is a product that really works and I use it all the time.
